Paw. Hoof. Paw. Hoof. The prints in the ground seemed to follow this rather well. Gifter's had paws on their front legs and hooves on their back... right? Then again the Nocen did as well. Usually they walked on just their hind legs though, so either these tracks belonged to a Nocen that was trying to trick this group, or at least one Gifter had been on the path they were now traveling. Were they to follow these tracks, they just led deeper within the orchard, or rather toward the back of it. What was beyond the orchard though? Well, if they decided to go to that point, it was a pumpkin patch with rather giant pumpkins, along with a few small ones. Surely a Gifter wouldn't be here though? Didn't seem like it'd be a good place to hide after all. Maybe those tracks did just belong to a Nocen...

So, Kim lived with a human as well? Thinking about it, Yami figured that it wasn't really that surprising. Many creatures lived with humans nowadays, and -- suddenly Kim tripped, sending herself flying. "Oh goodness, are you all right?" Yami nearly cried out, startled. He knelt down, prepared to help in any way he could, but Kim managed to get herself back on her feet on her own. Straightening up again, the Lollio cleared his throat and listened to what the Viikuan (and the Wevrynn, for that matter) had to say next. Pensive, he tapped a paw against his lips in thought. "Well, we could follow these tracks and see what they lead to. Any trail is better than none, after all... And Miss Namonaki; perhaps you could use your wings to our advantage? You could scout ahead and see if you can spy any unusual activity up ahead. Miss-- er, Kim and I will follow these tracks on the ground." His idea said, he sat back, waiting to see how it would be accepted.

When both creatures ran to her side, Kim felt ever so slightly ashamed. By tripping like that, she'd literally scared the Lollio and the Silrynn. "I'm fine, really," she added as she got up, after which she had proposed her idea to follow the tracks, after which Yami had proposed to check from both the sky and the ground. To Namonaki's comment, she said, "My human is an outsider, so he doesn't know what a Gifter is; or at least, I don't think he does..." Kim doubted Roderick knew what a Gifter was, or if he even knew about the Gifter's existence. But she doubted that he knew the latter... And then Namonaki mentioned that her eyesight was good, being a dragon, so Kim figured that Yami's idea would be the best way of actions. She nodded her consent. "That sounds good with me."
Taking the lead this time, Kim stuck her nose to the ground and tracked the Gifter's (or the stray creature, but she did hope it was a Gifter's) pawprints. "I bet they're the prints of the creature we're looking for..." she told Yami with her nose still glued to the orchard's ground, her nostrils filling up with the apples' overwhelming stench. She blinked her golden eyes. "I sure won't be eating any apples anytime soon..." This powerful smell of apple hadn't made her sick, but it had become quite overwhelming after a while. Kim brightened when she smelled the new scent; pumpkin. The backyard of the orchard was filled with big, orange pumpkins.
Kim turned around to check if Yami was still following and if Namonaki had watched from above (and if the Silrynn had seen anything from up there). "Hey, there's a bunch of pumpkins here," she told the other two, swiping her tails towards the spot in question. She hadn't approached it too much, considering she didn't know whether they could go over there or not... but she knew the tracks were heading that way...

The Silrynn took a harder look at the tracks. Then, Tami suggested that she take to the air. That was something she had not considered yet. "That's a good idea...I'll do that, then." She found it rather hard to take off from the middle of an orchard considering the fact that there were a lot of trees and hardly any room, but somehow she managed to get into the air with hardly any noise. At least...she hoped she didn't make any noise. It would do no good to find a Gifter and then startle it into hiding. Namonaki circled around overhead, looking for signs of a Gifter. The trail was harder to see from the height, but she could just look at where Yami and Kim were going.

Pumpkins, hm... Even the largest of them didn't look big enough to hide a Gifter behind, but then, he didn't know exactly how big a Gifter was in the first place. Maybe if it was lying down... "Perhaps we should search behind these pumpkins," Yami suggested to Kim. He stepped around the smaller ones and began to look behind some of the larger ones that were closer to the edge of the property. Hopefully the same person who owned the apple orchard owned this piece of land as well, and he wouldn't mind them looking around for a bit. "So, ah... You said you were having troubles at home? Would you care to speak of it?" he asked, again trying to keep up a conversation. He wasn't sure if it was a touchy topic for her, so he decided to chance it. If it did end up being a sensitive subject, he would immediately back off it.

Well, whatever the tracks belonged to... the tracks stopped at the pumpkin patch. Why they stopped here was unknown, seeing as how it wasn't like the type of earth had changed. Maybe they had been lured there after all? Suddenly there was another rustling sound, more like the sound of hooves on ground and something bumping in to a pumpkin. There was also a crack, and then more shuffling around. It seemed like there were at least two creatures around here instead of just one. Possibly they knew the others were on their trail and were getting flustered.

Kim's fur ruffled ever so slightly when Namonaki took off, the Viikuan even losing her balance a bit, unused to being exposed to such a big creature. Kim watched as the Silrynn flew about, keeping a watchful eye on the ground below from a higher level.
Kim watched as Yami explored ahead and shuffled through the pumpkins. Ah... matters at home? If she wanted to talk about it? "Well..." She explored along with the Lollio as she tried to come up with a solid answer. What she was experiencing at home wasn't anything that was critical, it wasn't anything that someone would consider a thread, but it was something that was very... irritating, to say the least. "Well, the thing is..." She paused again as she shuffled through the pumpkins, basically observing the same ones Yami had observed right before her. "Well, there are other Viikuans where I live, and one of them... well... he's very..." Again the female Viikuan paused, and her tail-blades scrapped the ground carefully, so as to not damage the hard labor of the owner of the pumpkin orchard. "He's very... clingy," she said at last. "He won't get off my tails, and I'm not exaggerating." Just thinking about that boastful Red Viikuan male made her frown.
Kim was about to add something when more rustling could be heard from nearby. Ah! So they had found something in the end, hadn't they! Quickly she turned to Yami and flicked her tails towards the spot where she could hear all that ruckus; and she knew Yami could probably hear it too! "Do you hear that?" she asked Yami as she turned to look at the noisy place where there seemed to be creatures hiding nearby. "I guess we actually found something..." She wanted to ask Namonaki if she could see anything from high above, but Kim doubted that her voice would reach the Silrynn, even if she screamed. Instead, she just looked at the sky to see if the female Wevrynn had spotted anything.

Namonaki could not hear the conversation or the rustling below from her alitude, but her eyesight was as good as ever. She followed Yami and Kim for a while, when she saw Kimberlyn point her tails at something. Squintinger her eyes, she thought she could see some movement within the pumpkin patch. They eat pumpkins...? Intriguing...She flew a bit lower to the ground and began to circle around the area that the Viikuan had pointed two, hoping to signal to the others that she confirmed seeing something there.

A clingy male? Sounded like she had boyfriend problems, even if she didn't consider him a boyfriend. In fact, that was probably part of the problem. "Troubles with a boy, I see... I'm sure you've tried telling him how you feel? If you haven't, I'd suggest that first... but you have to be persistent." He knew what it was like to have a flirtatious male on his paws. His 'friend' (which was really more of an acquaintance, but kept insisting that they were friends) was exactly that, and even now he would still make advances. That was just the sort of fellow he was, unfortunately... He fell silent as he heard the rustling and nodded to Kim to tell her that he had heard it as well. Looking up, he noticed Namonaki circling over the area. That must mean that she had seen something. Carefully, Yami began making his way through the pumpkins, towards the center of the Wevrynn's circle...

Standing not too far off from them was a rather defined white creature. Was this a Gifter? As its eyes spotted them it quickly darted off behind a pumpkin. From behind another pumpkin there was a sudden snort and the sound almost like that of a hoof roughly hitting the ground. Then, all of a sudden, one of the largest pumpkins began rolling swiftly toward Kim and Yami. Maybe another Gifter had caused this?

As Kim squinted her eyes to see Namonaki's reaction. The Viikuan noticed that the Silrynn had adopted a circling pattern in the way she was flying; had she really spotted something from behind those pumpkins? Ah, she wished her voice could reach the dragon...
Oh, but she had a companion on the ground, too. Her ears tweaked as Kim heard Yami propose some solution for her 'clingy guy' problem. "Hmm, well..." She sat down for a moment, sketching a circle on the ground with her paw thoughtfully. "Well... I haven't really told him anything. I try to stick with him, since we still remain a group, but... I guess he doesn't see things the way I do. I don't really know how to tell him..." She was so unused to telling such harsh things to people. She knew it would hurt his feelings if she told him to leave her alone, so she personally preferred to keep quiet about it. But maybe Yami was right. Maybe it'd be best for her to tell that male how annoying he was. "But I guess you're right..." Her tail-blades slipped on the ground a bit. "Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to follow it," she said with a smile that both hinted happiness and uncertainty.
And then there was more noise coming from nearby. Being so distracted with her reply to Yami, Kim didn't spot anything... apart from a huge pumpkin rolling down towards her and Yami at full speed. She let out a loud screech. "A-ah! It's coming down on us!" Quickly the Viikuan got back onto her paws and tried to run to the sidelines, where the pumpkin wouldn't roll over her... but would she have enough time? And would Yami be able to scramble away?

Namonaki slowed down her flight speed. She swore that she could see a white patch in the midst of the pumpkins that looked like snow. Is that a Gifter...? she thought. The Silrynn swooped down even lower to get a better look at the white thing. Suddenly, she thought she heard Kimberlyn yell something, and then there was a large, orange pumpkin rolling down towards the two. "O-oh!" Namonaki gasped. She folded in her wings and plummeted down to the ground like a white bullet, aiming for the pumpkin. Before she hit the ground, she spread out her wings again and swooped down in an arc, latching her claws firmly in the pumpkin.
"What happened just now?" she panted, alighting on the ground and getting her claws out of the pumpkin's flesh. Pity that she had to ruin a perfect pumpkin....

There was no time for Yami to reply to Kim. That pumpkin was tumbling towards them too quickly. Without thinking, he flung himself off to the side, out of the path of the huge vegetable. In doing so, he managed to trip over a smaller pumpkin, landing face-first in the dirt. Just then, Namonaki stopped the rolling pumpkin with her claws and asked what had happened. Pushing himself up and spitting out the dirt in his mouth, Yami answered, "I've no idea... But that was no accident. There is definitely something or someone out here with us." He looked up at the Wevrynn perched atop the pumpkin, then looked out across the field. Something was out there, all right... and whatever it was didn't want to be found. Why else would it have caused the pumpkin to roll towards them like that? Either the creature was incredibly mean-spirited, or it was trying to protect itself. Yami could forgive the creature if the latter was the case, but if it was just a bully... Well. He wasn't sure he wanted to meet with such a creature.

As Yami moved to get up, something soft and furry brushed against his cheek. Vivid... pink fur at that. Standing next to him was... was this what a Gifter looked like? Looked like there was some younger creature on its back as well. Apparently, this one hadn't liked the fact that they were almost flattened by the pumpkin, and had come over to make sure that they were alright. It wasn't long before another one appeared, only this one was apparently the white one that they had spotted. Putting it's paws up on the pumpkin, it peered over at Namonaki like a child trying not to get caught.
So.... What had caused the pumpkin to come after them if it hadn't been either of these two? The last creature to be spotted finally showed himself, jumping up to stand ontop of another rather large pumpkin with its head held high and chest pushed out. Well, this one certainly didn't seem like it was just going to up and go home with anyone.
(Just a few more posts? o-o Interaction with them finally~ Kinda easy to guess who gets who? Since I tried to have them react to who they go with, cept for the dude ya gotta drag home or something. XD)

Oh, thank goodness, Namonaki had been fast enough to stop the pumpkin from squashing her and Yami flat. Kim noticed the Lollio jumping away from the pumpkin, the poor guy landing face-first in the dirt of the pumpkin orchard. Well, she had been luckier on that part. Once the danger had been stopped, Kim skipped over to Yami, to check if he was all right. "Are you okay?" she called to him, and then Yami got back up and answered Namonaki's question. Kim had to agree with Yami's assumption. "Did you see anything from above, Namonaki?" Kim asked to Silrynn. "The pumpkins are so big around here, I didn't see anything..."
And then finally, the three of them got to see the ones who had been involved in the incident. A vivid pink creature brushed against Yami. What was that? A Gifter? Kim couldn't quite figure out what it was, since she didn't really know what a Gifter looked like... She knew it was some sort of deer-looking animal... And this animal had those wooden horns on its head... So it was a Gifter, right? Oh, and there was a little white animal on that pumpkin Namonaki had stopped earlier. So... that one flashy pink animal was interacting with Yami, and the white creature had taken a licking to Namonaki. Ah, were there only two of them? Had Kim missed her chance?
And then came the third creature, which the Viikuan figured was a Gifter as well. He seemed very, very, very proud. Oh, dear lord, how to go around with this one? Was he the one who had pushed the pumpkin forward? Hmm. Maybe it was worth a try, to interact with him...? Hopefully Kim wouldn't get bitten in the neck for trying.
Carefully, the Viikuan approached the proud creature atop the pumpkin. Knowing the customs of respect, she bowed shortly as a greeting to the creature. "Greetings. Are you the one who disturbed the pumpkin towards us?" She asked her question right away, trying to keep her voice steady and confident, but there was this clear hint that showed that she wasn't quite sure if this interaction would lead anywhere. Sure, she could have tried with the other two... but they seemed to have chosen who they wanted to interact with on their own.
Kim shook her head and continued the conversation with the Gifter on the pumpkin. "If you did this, why? If you were upset because we trespassed, then we're sorry..." She flicked her tail to show the little paper to the Gifter. Her license. "We were looking for... well... for you, I guess. You're a Gifter, right...?" Ouch, wasn't she taking a big risk here? What if the creature wasn't a Gifter? Would that hurt his pride? But... it just seemed like a deer. Right? "Er, well..." There wasn't much to say... Kim just hoped the Gifter wouldn't run or try to throw another pumpkin towards them. How were Yami and Namonaki doing with their own acquaintances....?
