Roderick, Male Human & Conall, Male Yellow Viikuan The first step to exploring a new world was to take things lightly, and that's what Roderick was trying to do. While coming into this new world (that is apparently going by the name of 'Ladelle') had been very frightening at first, the fear had gone away once the boy had realized this world was no threat to his life. Now he could freely relax and sleep soundly at night, knowing Ladelle held no threat to his neck. He looked up with curiosity as he saw the giant cliffs over his head, the sand under his shoes soft and warm, even though the rocky edges of the cliffs were hiding most of the sun rays. He stopped in his tracks and turned around, looking down at the observing Yellow Viikuan behind him. "Hmm... I wonder what there is to see here, Conall?" the boy asked the canine. The only response Roderick got a simple look from the wolf-like creature and a tweak of the ears, which Roderick knew meant, 'New things, but I don't know what.' "I hope we get to see many different species of creatures," the boy hoped as he continued his walk. Who knew what he would find? Ah, he had to admit things would be way easier if he had a guide... Moarwhen (Lollia) and Leht (Tatsu Wevrynn, Male) "Just a little higher, Leht," The voice came from around a large slice of cliff that jutted out towards the sea, the dark rock making the area seem forboding.
Moarwhen was stretched up, paws grasping for something above her reach. "I'm... Uhn! Sure I saw... Something here... from the boat!" She gasped, muscles straining sky ward. Her toes, along with the rest of her, were balanced atop a yellow snout. The tatsu huffed, reaching a little higher, strong claws digging into the stone. Even with such a powerful creature the stone wasn't too willing to give under the pressure making a terrible 'finger-nails-on-the-chalk-board' sound. Both winced together, Moarwhen almost falling because of it. "Careful, careful!" the lollia called.
Leht tried again for another hold, pulling his full length of 5 meters off the ground. This wasn't at all difficult for the odd, almost snake-like reptile. "Yes! Hey I TOLD you there was something up here," the lollia cried joyfully, paws trying to grab something above her, still out of sight. The two were too wrapped up in this little activity to realize they were not alone.

The only sounds the boy and the Viikuan had had the chance to hear were the waves splashing on the far shore ahead, and the wind blowing over the cliffs ahead. But then there came another sound, one quite displeasing to the ears. Roderick recognized it at once; this was the same loud screeching noise the school teachers or his parents would do when he hadn't done his homework or when he had done something he shouldn't have in the house. Those sharp things running down on an item so solid that it wouldn't give to the sharp nails or claws. Ugh. This sound. So displeasing... and the Viikuan was quite unhappy about this awful sound as well.
And then it stopped. Roderick turned to Conall, now intrigued. "What do you think did this?" The Viikuan didn't say a thing, but Conall tilted his head, and his ears tweaked. He was just as oblivious as Roderick was. But the canine was blessed with something the boy did not quite have: A good sense of smell. Immediately the Viikuan picked up two new scents riding the wind. Conall took a few steps ahead and then continued to walk, up until he had reached the spot where the Tatsu was. Being so up in the sky, the wolf-like creature had yet to notice the Lollia perched upon the dragon's nose. Conall looked up as he observed the dragon from a safe distance...
Wondering what had caused the Viikuan to wander off ahead, Roderick followed his quadruped companion, stopping behind his twin tails, the blades shining under the small rays of light coming from over the cliffs. The boy noticed the dragon, and he couldn't help but gasp, excitement now filling his voice. "Look at that, Conall... It's a dragon of sort. What do you think it's called?" Being new to the world of Ladelle, Roderick had yet to know every species out there. What was this dragon called? What secrets did it hold? Oh, this was getting so exciting!
Conall didn't look over his shoulder to reply. Again, he simply tweaked his ears as he stared at the majestic creature.

"I got it uh oh," All one sentence as Moarwhen swatted the object towards herself, alas her aim was off and it fell past her and Leht, tumbling to the ground. The lollia watched, alarmed as it fell only to see... Somebody below? "OH! OH! Watch out!" She cried, waving her arms and leaning over almost falling from her precarious perch. Leht huffed, doing his best not to sneeze. Fur; he'd never been a big fan of fur.
The Lollia crouched down and climbed awkwardly down Leht's face, rushing herself because she was concerned for those below. She hadn't thought anyone was here! How strange, most people would have been to scared to come here. She clung to the tatsu's neck, wiggling a little due to her panicked rush. "Back on the ground, Leht! We gotta' make sure I didn't hit anyone!"
The tatsu grunted, carefully placing his claws lower and lower on the cliff, his tail coiling carefully on the ground after him so as to avoid hitting those below. His face was turned to look at the two that were looking at him, the black slits of his eyes almost non existent from the bright light of the sun. Once he was low enough into the shade his pupils grew larger and he looked less terrifying then he had before. "Hey!" the lollia called, clinging to the Tatsu's mane, "Hey! Did I hit anyone with that... thing?" she asked. She'd yet to even see the object she'd found. All she'd caught was a glint of blue before it disapeared from her sights.

It was only when Moarwhen had wiggled about to catch something that the Viikuan caught a glimpse of her olive-green fur. Conall stretched his neck and walked a little bit forward again, wondering what that small large-eared creature was. Although he was a Viikuan, he had no idea what kind of species roamed freely around Ladelle. Hence, he didn't know that the dragon was a Tatsu, nor did he know that the bunny-like animal was a Lollia.
As the Yellow Viikuan looked up, a strange item came falling down. Conall blinked upon seeing it but had no time to react and avoid it. The canine barked with surprise as the strange item fell atop his head; what in the world was that?
"Conall!" Roderick skipped over to the Viikuan when he saw the item hitting Conall's head, and still stricken with curiosity, picked it up in his hands, observing it from every other angles. And then he heard a small shriek coming from above, and he looked up to see Moarwhen for the first time (he had been focusing on Leht the whole time). "Oh... what do you think this one is, Conall?" Conall, who had been rubbing his head with a paw, simply looked up with a casual, "Huh?" stare, telling Roderick the Viikuan hadn't been paying attention.
Just a few seconds afterwards Moarwhen yelled and asked if the item had hit anyone. Roderick looked up and walked towards the Tatsu and the Lollia, seeing this as an opportunity to socialize with these strange and intriguing creatures. "It fell on my companion's head, but he's fine."
Now this was really, really getting exciting!

"Sorry, sorry," the rabbit-like creature called at Leht lowered himself to the ground, coiled so as to take up the least amount of room. Climbing down the wall of scales that made up the coiled mass that was Leht she dropped to the ground, falling back on her butt when she dropped down. "Omph!" With her back to the two newcomers she tried to twist her head around to see the two. "Really sorry," she flopped back and scrambled to her feet. She rested on her haunches, brushing dirt off the fur on her belly. "I thought I'd be able to hold on to... whatever it was but I was mistaken. You sure he's alright?" When she'd pushed the object around she hadn't gotten a good feel for it's weight.
Behind her the sound of one of Leht's 'huffs' then the warm air against her back, disturbing her fur. "Oh! Right! I'm Moarwhen and this big scaly softy is Leht," she said, all smiles. Leht bowed his great head. He didn't seem to be much of a talker. "What brings you out here? This isn't a very safe island. Lots of angry creatures and... Lollia's dropping things on unsuspecting beach goers," she laughed, a little embarrassed to have dropped something on somebody she didn't even know.

Roderick watched as Moarwhen scrambled down Leht's back. He kept on watching from the Tatsu to the Lollia and back again, trying to observe the both of them at the same time. When he realized it was quite hard to check both of them all at once, he figured he'd focus on Moarwhen for now, considering she was the one speaking at the moment.
When Moarwhen mentioned the item, Roderick remembered he was holding it, and he proceeded to hand it back to the Lollia. "Oh, here. This is what fell down, right?" He bent down to give the item back to Moarwhen, using this as an opportunity to observe the Lollia from a closer angle. As Roderick socialized with Moarwhen Conall walked over to them, sitting down right beside his humanoid partner, observing the Tatsu, mostly impressed by Leht's size.
Moarwhen and Leht were their names? Well, they'd need to introduce themselves too, right? "I'm Roderick, and this is my partner, Conall." He got back up and adjusted the satchel that was hanging from his shoulder as Conall simply nodded in his head for a greeting. "We're just exploring," Roderick added to answer Moarwhen's question. "We're... a bit new to this world, so we're exploring at the moment, so we can be a bit more knowledgeable about the continent." You can't very well go around a world without knowing it first, right?
The mention of angry creatures intrigued Roderick. "Creatures?" His golden eyes lit up with curiosity and excitement. "What kind of creatures? And as for item-dropping, don't worry about it." He paused and then asked, "I don't want to be rude... but what are you?" From what he could tell, Moarwhen was a rabbit of sorts and Leht was a dragon... but surely they had a name for their species, right?

Moarwhen eagerly took the item, excited to finally have it. Yes, yes! Now this could begin!
But before she could really get into this puzzle, she had to figure out this newest puzzle. "Roderick and Conall," she nodded, as did Leht. Moarwhen's nod was more vigurous but the two seemed rather interested in the other two, the dragon's eyes still quite obviously fixed on the two. He gave much of his attention to the Viikuan who was giving him the most attention. Viikuan, strange creatures, but Leht saw them often enough at home. "New to the world? Like... all of Ladelle?" Yes, a definite puzzle. The lollia was excited, her fluffy tail wagging behind her.
"Erm, Well... I'm a lolli," Moarwhen said, dipping her head, "We're pretty well known about the world, I would say. Especially since we're mortal forms of the gods. I guess... Well, more exact I'm known as a lollia," She twirled around, "I'm a girl as you probably noticed. Lolli's who are guys are known as lollio. La, Lo. Pretty simple. As for this big guy," she said, elbowing her partner who just grunted in response. "He's a wevrynn. There's lots of different kinds of wevrynn, too. He's a tatsu wevrynn. They live for FOREVER! He's old, aren'tcha'?" the lollia laughed, teasing the bigger, stronger carnivore without even a hint of fear. The tatsu just huffed, looking a little annoyed, or bored... Maybe both. He didn't look as if he was about to bite her head off though. A big softy indeed.
Now she had to think. What other creatures where there to talk about? "Welll~ I guess... There's the lumins, they're pretty scary. Large snake like creatures. Kinda' like Leht but smaller, and less amazing. They have these crazy spikes on the end of their tails and they're not nice. Not one inch of them is kind. Cross my heart," which she did, her paw crossing over her furry chest, "hope to die, stick a needle in my eye," she touched her one eye lid and frowned. "I wouldn't suggest going into the caves alone. You could get lost, or run into a lumin. Or both!"

So Moarwhen was a 'Lolli', more specifically a 'Lollia', since she was a female. As for Leht, the big dragon, he was a 'Wevrynn', and more specifically, a 'Tatsu Wevrynn'. Well, easy enough! When Moarwhen started speaking, Roderick took out a small notepad and a pencil, and he vigorously started taking notes about what Moarwhen was saying. Lollies, and Lollioes, and Lollias, and Wevrynns, and Tatsues... So many things already! And the strange little Lolli bunnies were mortal forms of their Gods... The blonde-haired boy was literally screaming in his mind from the excitement.
And then Moarwhen mentioned the Lumins. Oh? Lumins? Dragon-like creatures that look like Leht, but a little less amazing? And they're supposedly mean? Roderick watched as the Lollia poked her eyelid and made a cross sign over her chest. She wasn't kidding, it looked like. Ooh, how exciting! Who knew Roderick and Conall would go into such a big adventure? And it was only the beginning of it all. "Caves and Lumins, huh?" Roderick thought out loud, poking his chin with a finger. "What do you say, Conall? Should we go into one of those?"
The Viikuan, who was still sitting down patiently beside Roderick, looked up at his human partner and shrugged. Now that Conall knew what Leht was, he had stopped staring at the Wevrynn, but the Viikuan could sense the dragon looking down on him. But Leht seemed to be gentle and patient, and so there seemed to be nothing to fear.
Roderick nodded to Conall's shrug, and he turned back to Moarwhen. "We're going to go explore one of those caves. Would you like to come along?" he asked casually, literally ignoring the warnings Moarwhen had just given him, as if they were all going to take a walk on a beach.

Did this guy have wax in his ears? A nervous little laugh. "Hey, were you even listening? I just said it was really dangerous!" She was smiling though, quite impressed with this Roderick fellow. He seemed to be taking this whole 'being in a new world' thing rather well. Maybe he could help her on what she was here for because, unlike Roderick, she wasn't just taking a stroll. She wasn't just exploring. She had a bit more purpose then that, gently taping her treasure against one paw. "You seem pretty eager to go in there, so I'll tell you a secret; why I'm here, you know?"
Very carefully the lollia popped open the little wooden canister. The whole of it was wrapped in soft fabric, something that had once been tough and coarse. Over the years though the wind and rain and other elements had taken their toll. A weak and faded blue fabric protecting a thin, soft wooded canister. It wasn't the canister that interested her, it was what was inside.
She shook it out, Leht's attention turning from the viikuan to the business at hand. He'd agreed to come on this journey for recording purposes, for his ever continuous search for knowledge. A thick piece of rolled up paper slipped out, made to withstand the test of time. How it had gotten to this place was a mystery, even to the lollia. She laughed, unrolling it carefully. "I love to explore, and I love puzzles. This island was used by pirates and they're pretty crafty sometimes..."
She looked up at Roderick, "Would you like to help me find a treasure AND explore? Two bird with one stone, right?"

When Moarwhen asked if he had been listening to her, Roderick simply nodded. "Oh, I did hear what you said, that's why I want to go out there to see one of those Lumins creatures." Who cares if it was going to be dangerous? Who cares if they could all end up dead? This meant exploring and adventuring through unknown territory, so why turn back because of some mischievous creatures? They'll just have to run if the situation gets just that bad.
Roderick watched intently when Moarwhen revealed what was inside the little cylindrical item. A soft piece of wrapped paper came out. To Roderick, this looked so familiar to a treasure hunt of some sort, maybe hidden by those pirates Moarwhen mentioned. This was getting more and more exciting by the minute! And Moarwhen then proposed for the four of them to help each other out, so it would be advantageous for both sides. Moarwhen would get to hunt for the treasure and other things that lay buried somewhere, and Roderick would get to explore the terrain. Why, wasn't this just convenient! "That sounds like an amazing idea." As always, the boy turned to the Viikuan. "What do you think, Conall?"
Conall tilted his head to the side, as if to say, 'I'm not quite sure about this,' but then he just shrugged, and he figured that if Roderick were to go somewhere, then that Conall would go, too, no matter where it was. The Viikuan let go of his sitting position to get on his paws, ruffling his fur and stretching a bit. Okay, he was ready to depart now. He nodded his consent.
