Gray turned back, her tail twitching back and forth. "You speak the truth, human. But in this place, dark-colored beasts are feared." Her eyes strayed to Malice, looking over his dark purple pelt. "It would be wise for such creatures to not come here." Her eyes narrowed further, before she padded over to Pown.
"Still, you are right. I suppose we should travel together."

Twirling around the white and red candy cane on his index finger, Pown continued to look around. How nice it would have been if…if what he didn’t like to think about hadn’t happened. Life would have been much, much easier. His eyes narrowed due to his own personal thoughts, before he forced himself not to think about it. [Whatever it was.] Right now was not the best of times to think about that.
At some point, his gaze tuned on Gray, narrowed still. Actually, something about her voice or her words…he didn’t seem to like them. “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t talk like you knew everything.” He had his reasons, and he’d been around before a lot of the other humans appeared who had interest in this making alliance with creatures thing. Accompanying his words, the Nobility Yumi hissed, large ears drawn back against his head. “Fact of it is, he’s not black. Nor does either of us care if we wile them up a bit.” He tugged at one of the Yumi’s ears when he said that, grinning in a cunning way. Very close with Malice, that he was.
“Um, Miss…” Queen stepped in before either Pown or Malice got too snippy, which they were known for doing rather quickly if they were displeased with a situation. “I think he meant…It’s best not to stay in one group, but to split up. Um…There might be a better chance that way…” “You don’t think it’ll want to eat me, do you?” She suddenly asked in horror, staring at the candy cane the man had. She looked so much like one of them… And weren’t some Gifters known to be carnivorous?

What was that? The trees whispered and nudged one another with their branches against a breeze that seemed to be tussling their leaves as though to spread rumors of their guests. Heavy hooves beat in a galloping manner coming from behind the hunters. Had they passed it? They must have. A flash of a dark red.. or was it brown? Zoomed energetically through the group, shoving them aside like a thief on a busy market street, snorting an odd panting whinny of what must have been some sort of laugh. What had it racing past others like that? Completely inattentive of any other danger? Or maybe it was teasing them? Maybe it knew they had come for it? More beating hooves sounded not far to the side behind the many tropical thick trunked trees. How many others? They were unviewable beyond the fat leaves and foliage of the island. The Gifter was out of sight once more but at least they had a direction to follow now. The thumping was quieting into the distance.

The Naos seemed happy with it's new spot on Queen's head. Seemed to get a bit better of a view from here, and much less of a chance to get stepped on by anyone in the group or outside of the group. Its little pink eyes looked over at Gray, blinking. Seemed like a bit of a fuss was beginning.
Destiny bent down next to Queen and held out a hand to her. "Want me to carry you? I don't think they'd be able to take a nip out of you the-" Her words cut off as the flash of fur sped by them. Her eyes widened and she just stood there, as if frozen in time.
From another member of their 'group' there was a yelp of pain and the sound of three little plastic eggs hitting the forest floor. In zooming by the creature's hooves landed upon her tail, and as she tried to jump forward to get away her tail was still caught, causing her body to collapse to the ground. Her jaw slammed into the ground and she didn't move further, eyes swirling. Geeze... did the creatures of these woods have no decency?

Gray's tail twitched back and forth excitedly when she noticed the Gifter. Completely forgotten was the conversation, as she dashed off after it. Her ears pricked forwards, and her nose trembled, as she chased. Forgotten was stealth, all that mattered was the hunt, the chase, the capture, the kill...
It was really quite simple. The anthro had chosen to forget her human side, and turned control over to the feline. And the feline wanted blood...

Both Queen and Malice's ears twitched at the same time, right before the Gifter came running through them and causing a breif moment of chaos among the group. This one must have been born a trickster. It seemed like a lot of the critters here were that way, and that it was no different from them. Probably enjoyed terrorizing the townspeople, or the thought of it, at any rate.
Malice had been safe on the man's shoulder, while Queen dashed closer to Destiny, also doing her best not to send the little Naos flying off her head and into harm's way in that movement. Had she been able to, she might have accepted the vixen's offer. Then again, it would have left Azmaria walking alone on the forest floor. The Lollia towered even over her, being as small as she was.
It was surprising that it was Pown to turn to Azmaria's aid when she yelped and collided with the ground. Leaning down, he actually went and scooped her up gently to help her get upright once again and off the hard ground "You alright?" He asked calmly. He waited for her eyes to clear and her natural balance to kick in before he retreived the eggs that had rolled away after they'd fallen from her grasp. He held all of them in his hands much more easily then the Lollia had been able to. "Would you like me to carry them?" He offered her then. "It would save you the trouble." He had coat pockets. It'd be easy enough to stick them there, and it would make her walking around and doding a whole lot easier. Why? Why had he shown kindness to her? Well, he retained a certain pride for the Lollies, even if he seemed to dispise them. He wasn't pleased with the Gifter's antics toward her.
"Whatever you're going to do, hurry it up, or we'll loose its trail and it." The Nobility reminded them in a stern voice. Apparently, he was the first to notice that Gray had ran off to chase after it. "Let's get moving." Another little shocker: he jumped from the safety of his human friend's shoulder and starting going after the direction in which it ran, little Yumi nose to the foliage to catch the scent of a trail. It seemed that there may have been more then one, maybe, though those sounds could belong to anyone. Hopefully he didn't lead them in useless circles.
The top hat wearing man glowered, not at anyone in particular that was around now. But that other woman had suddenly decided to abandon them, out of her own personal greed. It greatly got on his nerves, considering she'd just volunteered herself into their search party and then ran off. "Yes, we'd better get going." He started after his Yumi companion, still awaiting the Lollia's answer.

The Naos did almost fall, but as Queen dashed forward Destiny gently put one hand resting on her back, the other hand moving to rest behind the little lizard like creature so that it didn't fall off and get hurt. Her crystal eyes watched Gray run off after the Gifter and she couldn't help but let out a small growl. What was she thinking, going after the creature in such a manner? Her eyes moved back to the little Yumi, speaking out, "Sorry, but it looks like I'm going to have to take care of something else instead of that ride..." She wasn't about to let the other attack one of the creatures of the woods.
Standing up, the kitsune girl shifted into her animal form, a tiny little white fox that had a lavender tint to her fur. In this form she was able to dash through the bushes and such much quicker then a human, seeing as how she wouldn't get caught on vines easily. After just a few moments she ran out of the bushes a few yards ahead of Gray, shifting into her human form once again. Fangs bared, she looked at the feline woman and growled. "Sorry, but you won't be going any further if you're just looking for bloodshed. If you draw any blood it'll be mine."
The white and pink Lollia was quite surprised, but didn't voice this. She figured that if she did then Pown would go back to being the... not exactly heartless, but he'd go back to seeming to not care about her. "Thankyou..." Azmaria spoke softly, now on her feet once again. "If you wouldn't mind it'd be a great help if you carried the eggs. If Queen would like, since Miss Destiny has run off to take care of the other problem, I could offer my assistance for the ride."
Now that she was on four legs she'd be able to move a lot quicker, and the Yumi and Naos could fit onto her back with ease. She then began to follow him, knowing that if Queen wished to take her up on the offer she'd surely hop on.

[[Whoo~ Fear my lame-ness.]]
Was that...a smile that came to Pown's lips? It seemed that way, as he watched Destiny take to her other form and run off after Gray. It was almost like he was happy that she did. Okay, so he was happy that she ran off after her. As for exactly why he was happy, that part wasn't so clear. Just because she was stopping that other girl from doing something he disliked, or just because he wanted to see a sort of confrontation? It could have been either, it could have been both.
"It's alright." Queen had offered up before the kitsune-girl dashed away. It was better that the other be stopped, had she had the intent of harming the Gifter. Harming, that could even mean scaring it. For someone named after whom she was, she really wasn't at all evil. No wonder why her name wasn't 'Heart' instead. As for the Lollia's offer, she wasn't so sure. Now that things had passed, perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to walk. Besides, troubling her wasn't something she wanted to do. "I think I'll be fine. I'll just walk beside you." That way, she could jump up onto her back if needed. "Though, if you'd like it better with her, I'd understand." She also addressed the Naos.
Pown followed Malice, who dashed through the brush, stopping to look back at the rest of the group ever few seconds to make sure they were still behind him. The man slipped the plastic eggs into his coat pockets as he went on. The Nobility Yumi lead them right along as to where the confrontation was being held. It was then that there was some breif hesitance, from everyone except Malice. He'd started tracking, and his intent was to do just that. However, the other two from his direct party were with curious or worried on the situation.

And still on the Gifter ran. And of it's other companion or companions? The noises they set off among the brush, be it lizards skittering noisily across untruged decomposing grounds or larger (yet not as large as a Gifter) peaceful creatures scattering to keep from being harmed by their intruders, only added to the chaotic game they all seemed to be playing. Aware of it's followers, the Gifter seemed to give a little bark that alerted it's on chaser to silence itself. The tropical forest went quiet all of a sudden. The smaller, fleeing creatures quieted into new hiding places, happy to accept the sudden cease of activity. Where ever it was coming from. What was this Gifter plotting?

Gray tilted her head back, sniffing the air. A small smirk played over her face. She was on the right track, to catch the Prey. But what was that? A new smell, the smell of another predator. A rival, come to steal away the Prey! No, no, she could not let it happen. Slowly, she crept over to a tree, and climbed it, crouching, waiting for Destiny to pass by.

(Actually I believe I'll go ahead and allow this and just continue on. I'll just act as though Destiny was ignored by her.)
Destiny's ears twitched, watching the other climb the tree and ignore her words of warning. She could hear the others coming and wanted to make sure she had made herself clear. Not to mention when the others neared the area she could see that the feline was eying Azmaria. She growled and transformed once again, this time her vixen form about the size of a great dane and yet at the same time still as graceful as her smaller form. No one was about to attack one of her little friends. No one.
Her paws left the forest floor, claws digging into the tree for only a split second as she scaled it and landed on the same branch as Gray. She dared her to try to do anything to one of the others.
The Naos shook its head and settled itself comfortable on Queen. She liked this one almost as much as she liked Azmaria. They were both so sweet...
Hearing all the commotion, Azmaria looked up in the tree, ears hanging downward. "I... think we'd better hurry and find the Gifter while Destiny takes care of this... She won't be very happy if that one ends up reaching it before us." She wasn't sure if the Gifter would listen to her once found, but surely they could at least keep it around long enough for Pown to befriend it or for Destiny to finish with Gray and work her way into its heart. Surely it would be happy that someone had tried to protect it?

As if to tempt the humans and other creatures hunting for it further, the red-toned Gifter had rounded back toward them once again. Their following had been delayed, but it wouldn't let that spoil its own fun, just because they were all too slow. They were just too much fun to mess with. It couldn't not torment them in this way. Sure, a lot of other Gifters were easily tamed by offerings of food, however, that was, obviously, not enough to stop this one. It charged right back at the still grounded group, heading back at the group to nearly stamp on Azmaria again, before turning sharply at Pown. It faked him out, as if it was going to ram into him, before jumping off around him and fleeing back through the trees once more, its set of hooves sounding against the dense floor. The others, if they happened to be Gifters and not Nocens, could still be heard. This time, seeming closer to the mischievous one.

The man watched in annoyance at what was going on. Had Destiny not already been up and after the other woman, he definitely would have been. However, he understood that both of them couldn't be, so relinquished the effort to the kitsune woman. One of them had to proceed in the hunt for this whole adventure to be effective. He wished it would have been her, though, since he wasn't honestly as passionate about taking one of them under alliance as she must have been. Protecting it, yes, but forming an alliance with it, not so much so. Ah well, take 'em as your given. It wasn't a Lolli, so all was fine, in that sense.
He was about to head off to continue on the trail, when the sound of hooves drew near, until he was suddenly face to face with the beast. Quite literally, when confronted by it, he bared his teeth and growled, as best as a practiced human could. It had almost gotten after Azmaria again, had it, and he may very well have tackled the beast right then and there to contain it so he or his temporary partner could catch it and calm it down. He just wanted to jump it, on instinct, though had no intentions of harming it, nor did he want the others to think less of him because of it. Stupid habit.
"Hurry up there!" He shouted up to Destiny, as Malice came running back at him, jumped on his head, and kept chasing after the Gifter. It was a prompt to get to moving. They couldn't afford to loose it this time.
Poor Queen dodged out of the way, only to fret for the Lollia's safety. She was thankful that she'd managed to get away this time without a close call herself, and without sending the Naos flying off. "You alright up there?" She questioned worried, none the less. "Hang on, however you can. We gotta get to moving."
The pair of males, Malice and Pown, had already set out in a run, dodging branches and bushes as they appeared, hot on the Gifter's trail. They weren't trying to scare it, but to cut it off. Little that the Nobility could do, but his tracking nose and sensitive ears were worth having in a hunt

Azmaria, hearing the sound of oncoming hooves and feeling as though the Gifter wanted to come back to trample her yet again, ducked behind a bush for a few moments. What if it did end up living with them? Was she going to have to put up with this sort of treatment from the crazy beast for the rest of her life? She peered out of the bush and saw the others running off after it again. No sense in slowing them down, so she drug herself out and hurried along to catch up to them. Hopefully Miss Destiny would hurry along as well.
The Naos wobbled a bit, but didn't fall off of its perch on Queen. It let out a happy little squeak and it regained its footing, as if to let her know that it was fine and they could continue on. Poor creatures... What on earth could be the reason they had been made without arms? Such a thing was quite needed, but they seemed to get by just fine.
Destiny's ears twitched, listening to Pown's words. True... She needed to hurry up. They could get there before this nut case, so why bother with her? She jumped to the ground, her body shrinking back to the size it was the first time she transformed. Running as quickly as she could, she did her bast to catch back up to Pown before taking back her more human form. "Think we should split up and come at it from different directions? We'd probably be able to corner it long enough to manage to figure out something to do."

Gray tilted her head to one side. Voices...a language she knew, or had known. Slowly, the human within forced the feline away, taking control of her subconsciousness. Her claws slipped on the branch, and she fell to the ground, landing on all fours, but somehow still looking undignified.
"Ah, ah, ah," she said. "A surrounding strategy? I'm all for it."
